Gift of Tongues, aye?

Oh my goodness, what a struggle this week has been haha! I've wanted to pull my hair out several times this week and have grown gray hairs in place of them hahaha. Nahh i'm so dramatic, aye?

Let me tell you guys, the Gift of Tongues is real...Heavenly Father is being so nice to us and blessing us right now! We don't even deserve it oh my gosh.

The other day we met with one of our investigators, Tevita. He was a homeless guy and one of our members took him in and let him stay with them. Well our member is doing some missionary work and brings him to church every week. Aho is his name, he is the man! He helped baptize/fellowship long ago, our now, Stake President. So cool. Anyway we had a lesson on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and read 2 Nephi 31:9-11. I asked him if it was important to him to follow Jesus Christ? He said "io" (yes) I asked him if he would follow his example and be baptized? He smiled, and said, "io" we put him on date for the 19th of August.

I have a testimony that He is so mindful of our prayers. SO MINDFUL. This morning one of our part member families (Less active is Tongan and his partner is palangi who's not a member) Her name is Charlie and she said she's been up all night taking care of her baby and she's very sick. She asked us to come over and watch the baby so she could rest a bit. As missionaries we are not allowed to babysit....so dilemma aye...We said a prayer and as soon as we finished, one of our RM members texted us and asked if we were alright and if we need anything...HOLLLLYYY! We called her immediately and asked her to help Charlie, she's over there now babysitting her baby and now Charlie has a fellowshipper with the church. HE ANSWERS PRAYERS. Honestly I'm still so dumbfounded how that happened.

There's so much more to tell you guys, but this email is already 12 pages long lol. But just know that the Lord is truly looking out for all of us. I know that to be true. I love this work, I love being his instrument.

This should be interesting...

Well everyone, I got transferred from my beautiful home in Dapto (of course, President never does what I ask him haha). I've been called to the Tongan program in Fairfield, Sydney. OH WHAT! Yep, Haha I don't know a lick of Tongan, my companion and I are shotgunning the area (meaning we're both new) with no clue how to get anywhere , no report of the area, investigators they work with, less actives, members or anything. And everything is in Tongan haha. BUT! Should be alright!!!

My talavou hoa (beautiful companion) is Sister Heimuli from Tonga, she goes home next transfer so I'm gonna make her trunky as haha.

I haven't been able to sleep or eat much since I found out I'm going Tongan speaking because I'm so nervous, upset that I left Dapto, and questioning HEAPS this new calling the Lord as given me. I feel like I'm in training again. I'm just a deer in headlights over here haha! BUT all last night and this morning I've had the song "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go" stuck in my head. Heavenly Father must know what he's doing. BUT HE SURE IS CRAZY! Pray for me hahaha.

Just going to pull a Kolipoki and study all day and night without food and water then be fluent as.

The Lord has a plan for all of us. I so testify that there is no growth in the comfort zone. My dear soa, Sister Afatasi sent me this email this morning, "Whom the Lord calls HE qualifies...Heavenly Father gots yous!" hahaha. I know Heavenly Father is mindful of me because of my sisters like her.

1 Nephi 3:7 'I WILL GO AND DO!'

Straight and to the point

I'd love to tell you about a miracle. Yesterday was a rough day. So many rejections in finding, so many people yelling at us to go away (even our investigators, potentials, and less active we visited) so sad. I honestly was over it haha. But yous remember Liam? (HIs family is like my actual family here) We've been trying to work with him the entire time we've been here in Dapto! Anyway, he's really good kid, always busy with homework and school. He's very disciplined. BUT his mom would rather have him focus on school then learn about the gospel. She's told us several times. But luckily she was sick last night (lol) and we were with him and his very spiritually active grandparents. We showed him The Hope of God's Light Mormon message and invited him to put God first in his life, and everything would work out and to take the lessons. And he said, "okay, lets start"  oh what. So we taught the entire Plan of Salvation, yehaw! FINALLY! The Spirit was so strong. And he accepted the invitation to be baptized. I've been praying all last night and this morning thanking Heavenly Father. This is why I love being a missionary. Helping people remember what they once knew.

Transfers are this week. PRAY PRAY PRAY we stay here oh my goodness. Never have I wanted to stay so bad.

Love yous

Big Week

Oi aue, it's been a crazy week, aye? Haha. Life am I right. Heavenly Father is teaching me how to enjoy and have fun during the trials of life. If any of you reading this are facing serious trials right now, crack some jokes. Laugh a little. HOLD on. The Saviour is with you!

BUT we finally met The Man, The myth, the legend, and yes he is real, THE President Bingham.

I just have to say, we are BLESSED to have him and Sister Bingham in our mission. Boy is he inspired. His first talk with us, he had his talk prepared but changed it all and went by the Spirit. He would take long pauses in between and you could just see the Spirit enlightening and inspiring him. Even in my interview! I don't know but It's like he knows me already! We were suppose to have interviews after the tour in Mortdale but we ran out of time, so he drove all the way down to Dapto and me and my soa both got like a 15 min interview, instead of the 5 min one in would've been in Mortdale. It was great! I already love him. He knows what the mission needs and will lead us along in the BMW (Best mission in the world).

In other news, the Lord answers prayers! Something to know about Dapto is that it's small enough to be a Branch. Tiny as. But barely a ward. It's been on the struggle bus as of late and Bishop has been asking us all to pray for higher attendance and eventually a South Coast Stake. The past two weeks the chapel has been FULL ON! New members have been moving in, heaps our less actives returned back last week. And the Members are opening their mouths! The Lord answers prayers when our desires are righteous.

I can testify to you that there are miracles everyday that happen in our lives. The Lord blesses us everyday, it only take us to recognize them. And when we do, he will send more blessings.

Peace.

Sister Beck

I received revelation to rebuke my family. Hahah nah jokes. We had a final training from President Back about a week ago and he shared with us what he shares to all the missionaries returning home. And that is to never stop fulfilling your duty to the Lord, whether as a missionary, or a calling at church or your role in the home or community. While thinking about this in personal study I read Alma 7:22 where Alma is rebuking the righteous members of the church. Even the RIGHTEOUS of members need to slapped around every now and then haha. He says, "I said these things unto you that I might awaken you to a sense of your DUTY to God, that ye might walk blameless before him.." In other words, "you're doing great! Remembering your God and not being prideful, active in church, raising your kids in the gospel...BUT you know you can do better." AND WE CAN! Just like in the talk, "What Lack I Yet?" I promise you ...it's missionary work HA! C'mon you have an annoying missionary sister in the family and I have the authority to rebuke you. HAHAH nah I'm just kidding.  But the blessings of sharing the gospel and the spirit that is felt is "incomprehensible joy" and out of this world, because it's from heaven! Like Shia Lebufff says, or more approriately President Back says, 'just do it!' So take my challenge and awake yourself and remember your duty to God.

In other news, one of our Part member families, the Graham family came to church!! After inviting them for a solid month haha. And they loved it! It was fast and testimony meeting and i asked Joel (the non member) what he thought and he said he really liked it, it's pretty emotional though HAHAHA I was dying. I think everyone who got up for their testimony was crying full on hahah.

The Kaufusi kids still want to be baptized and Helen, the mom is fully supportive! She is actually one of my favorite people. She said I could come back after Australia and move in with my spouse if I wanted HAHAH polynesian families...

We meet President Bingham at the Mission Tour on Wednesday and will have interviews, wish me luck!

Hurrah for Israel.

Love,
Sister Beck
